SALLE GREEN

Teaching Modern and Classical Fencing in Glen Allen, Virginia

SNOW CLOSURE - 16 January

THE SALLE IS CLOSED ON SUNDAY, 16 JANUARY due to forecast snow and ice in a major east coast winter storm.  Please stay warm and safe.  We will resume a normal schedule on Monday.

SALLE GREEN

Salle Green is the fencing club and school in Hanover County, Virginia.  The Salle was originally founded in 1974, and in 2021 transitioned from a business to a non-profit club.  We plan to celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2024.

We welcome experienced fencers, new fencers, recreational fencers, and serious competitors in the three weapons of the sport (Foil, Epee, and Sabre) and especially Parafencers (wheelchair and blind fencers).  Our fencers compete in the Virginia Division of USA Fencing, in the Region Open Circuit, North American Cups, and the National Championships and represent the United States internationally.

We are a member club of USA Fencing, the national governing body for the sport of fencing in the United States.  Our coaching staff is variously credentialed by the United States Fencing Coaches Association, the Academie d'Armes Internationale, the International Fencing Coaches Association, and the Classical Academy of Arms.

We are located at 11058 Washington Highway (US Route 1), Glen Allen, Virginia, approximately 1.9 miles north of the old Virginia Center Commons Mall, on the south side of the R. J. Tilley building.

OUR PATCH

The Salle's patch is our Trademark, and the shield's design was granted by the American College of Heraldry in 2005.  The blazon is vert, two swords crossed points in chief argent, a border compony argent and sable.  Members who supported us during the pandemic may wear a one inch green star below the shield.
